Monica Sanchez

Urbanist, Researcher and Professor. Original from Puerto Rico and currently living in Barcelona. She is an Architect, Ph.D. with specialization in Urban Planning and with a diverse international background as a Manager and Designer. Her primary passion lies in collaborating with cities to promote the adoption of sustainable and resilient urban planning policies and design strategies.She is attracted by societal issues, particularly those within urban settings, including architecture, the environment, public spaces, and mobility systems and any social and sustainable initiatives that offer positive alternatives. As an urbanist, she places great importance on human experiences, multiculturalism, and creativity. Having had the privilege of living in various diverse and inspiring locations such as Germany, Spain, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, the United States, and Chile, that has enabled her to analyze, critique, and compare different environments and observe how various strategies impact and shape the lives of citizens.
