Chelsea Barabas

Chelsea is a community-centered researcher working on a wide range of issues related to the ways technology becomes a battleground for transformational social change. She works with a broad cross-section of researchers, community leaders, and government officials to unpack and transform dominant narratives around the ways technology is shaping the public sphere. From 2020-2021, she was a Technology Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She recently completed her PhD at the MIT Media Lab, where she previously worked as a research scientist for the AI Ethics and Governance Initiative.
